chance for showers. there are light sprinkles out there. they already crossed south of baltimore. there's more up into southern pennsylvania. so it's just showing that it's going to be a little more unsettled today. i think for baltimore, our best chance is to see more showers will be in afternoon. if you have outdoor plans i would start off the day thinking you could be outdoors. it's the evening hours that we may see more showers. 54 at the airport. high temperature today just as cool, in the low 70s. again, that chance for showers starting late in the afternoon towards the evening hours. we'll talk about what comes up in the seven day which includes more rain. stay tuned. our big story. once again the orioles. it was a little closer last night, but they once again take down the red sox. >> right. how about them o's. manny machado turns a double play to get the o's out of the inning. then a few innings later the 19-year-old breaks a 3-3 tie with his seventh home run of the year. that's where the score would stay. tying them for first in the the american league east with the yankees. p

-day forecast and carry through next weekend. >> a woman is dead after a fire in northeast baltimore. >> it happen on sunday morning on north avenue. kim dacey is live downtown with the latest. >> the victim was an 88-year-old woman who lived in the home with other family members. she was the only one inside the home when the fire started. officials say the fire started just after 6:30 sunday evening on east north avenue near collington avenue in northeast baltimore. firefighters say a neighbor was hurt trying to get into the home to save the victim. he was rushed to the hospital with a possible leg fracture. the body was found inside the home. officials do not know how she died. they think it was due to smoke inhalation and burns. neighbors say it was a terrible scene. >> i saw the flames shooting up out from the first floor and the flames were so thick and intense. i've never seen any flames like that before. it was really, really bad. >> the whole neighborhood -- everybody in the neighborhood that came around trying to help, getting people out of their houses and stuff. >> the cau

. baltimore city police are investigating a shooting involving one of their own. we are told the shooting happened 45 minutes ago and the 400 block of east loraine avenue. one officer shot a single suspect. we will have more information tomorrow morning. meantime, city police are looking for a missing teenager. officials say earlier this morning, a 13-year-old daniel jackson was arguing with his mother and the 1800 block of ruckston avenue. he has not been seen or heard from since. police say daniel is developmentally cha llenged. he was last seen wearing a turquoise paulo, blue and white shorts, and white sneakers. if he see daniel, you are asked to call 911 or the missing persons unit. our big story tonight -- the first full day of racing is over for the second annual grand prix of baltimore. how are things going for the second time around? george, how did things go? >> the organizers are not releasing attendance figures, but they are pleased with the crowds they have seen. the jury is still out on whether nearby businesses feel the same way. the race to the end of the second and no gra

that baltimore city police have been responding to in the past 20 minutes or so. baltimore city police tweeted about three different shootings in the last 20 minutes. one of them happen on frankfurt avenue. two people were shot in the 2200 block of south even street. they have responded to seven shootings at five locations in the past 24 hours. that is how busy they have been just this labor day. seven people shot in five different incidents across the city. all the situations remain under investigation. we will pass along updates as we get them. sheldon dutes, wbal-tv 11 news. >> stake and harford county police need your help in identifying a driver who struck a female pedestrian of around 7:40 this evening. authorities said they found a woman struck by a car on southbound route 1 just north of here agree bypass. they said the woman was apparently waving her arms. the person the second vehicle swerved and tried to avoid her but struck her with the passenger side mirror. the victim was 28 years old and was taken to shock trauma where she is said to be in stable condition. anyone with informati

of showers and thunderstorms up in baltimore and northern sections of baltimore county. that's been a bit of a hotspot this evening. they keep forming storm after storm up there. we have been dry in town. you can see around charlottesville some pretty good rain. this is moving north of 64 now. parts of culpeper county are beginning to get in on the act and again this rain will continue to move up and through. it's not in the metro area now, but i suspect as it holds together, it will at least bring a few showers through here 1:00, 2:00 in the morning. 79 degrees now, 75 for gaithersburg, 82 for quantico. dew points are extremely high and here in town it just jumped up to 74 degrees. 76 for fredericksburg and culpeper the dew point is 75. what we're dealing with here, remnants of isaac and we're still east of what is left of isaac, so we continue with this unsettled pattern, showers, thunderstorms, muggy conditions lingering. it does look like we'll be a little bit drier as we start getting into thursday and friday before more showers and thunderstorms come back into the forecast as we get

. this after a man fell five stories from an escalator at an nfl preseason game. >>> a baltimore man behind bars after a botched robbery. the victim says she lost her keys at maryland casino wednesday night. 50-year-old daniel miller found the keys, took her car eventually driving to the victim's house in edgewater. officers caught him walking out of her home with her laptop and jewelry. despite him being locked up, the woman is still on edge. marie didn't want to give her last name. >> like i said, i've never experienced it and so it's really been -- it's unsettling. i'm kind of walking around in circles. things i want to do and i just don't -- just very unsettling, still. >> miller faces multiple charges including burglary and resisting arrest. >>> federal authorities dropped their investigation into a controversial sheriff in arizona. authorities determined there wasn't enough evidence to present a case against maricopa county sheriff joe arpaio. there were charges he used his role unfairly. arpaio isn't off the hook yesterday. a federal judge hasn't cleared him of racial profiling again

to be a hassle-free, fun-filled evening at the maryland state fair in baltimore county. those plans quickly went south when mother nature began to show her ugly face on the infield racetrack where the stage was set up. concert organizers quickly put the brakes on the show and herded thousands of fans off the grounds into shelters just as the storm was moving in. the rain, wind and lightning tore through the skies above asconcert goers scurried looking for a place to hunker down in. the storm blew through and just as everyone thought the coast was clear, another round came and slammed them. >> get out of here. we have other storms coming in. >> reporter: and that's whentempers began to flare among anxious fans waiting to see the band play. >> this is crazy. rain or shine. it's not even raining anymore. i'm staying here. >> reporter: but after the disaster that took place last year killing five at the indiana state fair when their stage collapsed, these concert organizers aren't taking any chances. >> i don't mind. i would rather be safe than get struck by lightning. >> reporter: and officially, t
